Chapter One: Marriage?
Dad was freaking me out this morning when I sat down to enjoy my breakfast. Not only he was humming a cheerful song but he also smiled at me. He is not a morning person you see, so he usually looked grumpy early in the morning. Sometimes he glared at me for no reasons. However not today, he was very cheerful and he seemed like he could not stop smiling. I wonder what happened? I’ve been away because of work for the past few weeks so I haven’t seen him for quite some time.
“Good morning my sweet little angel. How is my only daughter feeling today?” he greeted me with a huge warm smile. Ok now he is just scaring me. Did something good take place when I was away? I never saw him this happy before.
“Hmm…Dad? Are you ok?” I asked because I was worried. He might be suffering from a mental sickness as we speak. He would never act like this unless he was unwell. He smiled at me showing all of his white teeth. Yes, my father is ill, under the weather indeed. Someone please call the ambulance.
“Yes, I’m fine angel.” He said cheerfully. Ok my dad is seriously not well. Work must be tough on him. He owned a couple of companies and constantly sits in his little office working all day long. Maybe his brain couldn’t take the pressure anymore, poor man. He played with his tie like a little kid while I stared at him with a frighten face. My dad was in his late thirties but he still act like a child. Sometimes I thought I’m the mature one and I’m only eighteen.
“Dad, please, don’t call me ‘angel’, just call me by my name.” I begged. Though it wouldn’t make any difference since my name is Tenshi, which means angel. I wonder where he got the Japanese name. I began to eat my breakfast and ignored my weird dad. It was the best thing I could do to calm myself from his uncanny behavior. I saw him reading the newspaper while glancing at the clock on the wall opposite to us.
“Shouldn’t you be at work?” he asked me as he turned to the next page of the newspaper. I glanced at the ancient grandfather clock that my dad bought a long time ago and the hands showed it was eight. I was late! I immediately gobbled down the rest of my breakfast like a barbarian. “Young lady, don’t you have any manners?” he glared at my actions. I may be a girl but I’m kind of the tomboy type. Dad always tried to make me act like a proper young lady but sadly he failed, numerous times. After I devoured my eggs, I gathered my bags. It was very heavy, full of clothes that I need for the next few weeks. I heard my dad let out a sighed. “Have fun at work and come back home soon.”
“Yes dad. I promised.” I yelled back at him and went out of the mansion. My dad’s companies are very successfully. I’ve lived in luxury ever since I was born. I’m very grateful he could grant anything I want but I’m not one of those spoil ones. If I am then why the hell am I working? I ran down to the garage and went inside my car. Dad insisted to buy me a car when I finally passed my driver’s license. I always hated the fact that he still treated me like a child who needs him to be at my side all the time. For goodness’ sake I’m eighteen now, I could take care of myself. However in his mind, I’m still his little angel. I drove quickly to my work place and at the same time, praying my manager won’t kill me.
I worked for SM Entertainment, one of the well-known entertainment companies in South Korea. I passed the audition two months ago and now I’m a trainee. I train with my seniors so we all could debut as a new group. Yes, I know it’s all sound like a dream come true for any girl in the world but there is a twist to this.
I have to dress up as a guy.
Yes, a guy, a man, boy, male. It was my own fault I have to act like a guy. My voice is kind of rough for a girl but then again I could control my voice to sound low or high. So I decided to fool the judges by dressing up as a guy when I first audition, only doing it for fun actually. I never thought I could be selected. In my whole life I never dreamt of becoming a singer since I always thought I would take over my dad’s companies. However now I’m working for SM Entertainment as an official trainee. Which my dad thinks is a great idea, this way I could experience ‘working’ instead of hanging out in the mansion waiting for him to hand over the companies. Though he doesn’t know the part that I’m training to be a singer and that I have to be a guy to work. He’ll never know anyway, with all those hair and make-up, he’ll never recognize me on the television screen. He thought I work as a staff in SM, that’s why he thinks it’s a great idea. He doesn’t even mind I have to leave home for a few weeks to work. After a thirty minutes or so and a few traffic jams I finally made it to the SM building. I parked at my usual parking space and put on my wig. My hair is long and straight that I have kept for over a year and I’m not going to cut it short. After checking myself in the mirror and practicing deepening my vocal, I walked in the lobby and showed my pass card to the security man. I smiled to be polite. When I was about to enter the elevator, I heard someone calling my name. I recognized that voice, that high yet soft tone of voice. He has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard.
“Ten! Wait up!” I turned around and saw RyeoWook running at my direction. Yes, RyeoWook as in Kim RyeoWook of Super Junior. He is now my senior, also one of my group members. I did tell you I work with my seniors so we all could debut as one. My seniors consist of two male groups called DBSK and the other Super Junior. There are a total of 19 members including me. The group’s name is Dong Bang Su Ju. You could guess where we got the name. I waited for senior RyeoWook to come by my side so we could get into the elevator together. I have to call all of my seniors and those who are older than me ‘senior’. And the painful truth is no one is older than me. Ok maybe some of the SHINee members but I rarely see them, plus TaeMin, Key and MinHo called me ‘hyung’ instead of ‘nuna’.
“Senior RyeoWook, good morning.” I bowed to show respect. My voice was low and deep when I spoke which pleased me. He chuckled hearing me. He once told me that he was the baby of Super Junior so he was not used being called ‘senior’. We both entered the elevator and I pushed the buttons to go to the thirteen floor where all of our rooms are, including the dancing and vocal rooms. That was where we stayed for the past few weeks. Yesterday, my manager allowed me to go home to visit my father. And he is the only one that knew I’m a girl. Let’s just say he is very clever and pays a lot of attention to his surroundings.
“Ten, you don’t have to call me senior. It still sounds weird.” RyeoWook spoke. He had an awkward smile on his face. I was not paying attention actually since he called me by my ‘guy’s’ name, I’m not used to be called ‘Ten’. Maybe I should change my name to ‘Zero’ it sounds much cooler. ‘Ten’ came from the word ‘Ten’-‘shi’. It was my manager’s idea. He thinks it’s hilarious and he loved it, but I absolutely loathe it.
“So, what should I call you?” I asked after a few moments. I tried to act like any normal guy should. You know leaning against the wall looking cool and absentminded… or not. A girl has no idea how to act like a guy for goodness’ sake!
“Just call me hyung or RyeoWook. You are only a few years younger than me.” He beamed. I think he is trying to make me comfortable. We only met a month ago. I lied to Dong Bang Su Ju that I was from America and never heard of DBSK or Super Junior. Luckily I’m fluent in English to prove them that I am from America. The truth was that I’m a huge fan of them! I have a slight crush on JunSu and RyeoWook because of their marvelous vocals. I tried to regain control of myself every time I’m with them. You know like tried not to squeal every time they did something so cute that made you want to jump for happiness. My head nodded at his statement and I glanced at my watch. We are very late. Senior YunHo is going to kill us. My mind was so busy thinking of getting killed. I didn’t realize that we reached our floor. I finally noticed it when I heard something crunch that made me look up from the shiny floor of the elevator. In front of me, I saw senior ShinDong and senior EunHyuk. In senior ShinDong’s hand was a bag of chips, so the sound was coming from him. Senior EunHyuk just got a smirk on his face. Yes, I am going to die, that was a sign that my funeral is near.
“You two are late, YunHo hyung will take your lives.” Senior EunHyuk let out a sinister laugh before escorting us to the dancing room. Senior ShinDong just kept on eating. Hard to believe he is one of the top dancers in SM. He worked very hard on dancing to be who he is today, one of the reasons I admired my seniors. They all worked hard to get where they are now. I just wished that Lee SooMan would pay them more. I threw a quick look at senior RyeoWook and saw nothing but calm in his expression. Isn’t he afraid to die?
“If he really is going to murder us, then I’ll just save the two of us by seducing him with my lovely smile.” Senior RyeoWook flashed a cute smile teasingly at senior EunHyuk who just rolled his eyes.
“Then I wish you two survive.” Senior ShinDong crunched another chip in his mouth. We finally arrived in the gigantic dancing room full of mirrors. The room has to be enormous so it could fit all nineteen of us that need space to actually move or breathe. It’s a vain girl’s heaven to be in this room, all of the walls are covered with tall mirrors, and everywhere you turn you would see yourself. Moreover it is every fan dream to be in this room, because in front of me was eighteen hottest guys of South Korea. For one second I thought I already died and gone to heaven. However I knew I’m still alive because senior YunHo was just approaching us. He had a frown on his face.
“You two are late, practice an extra forty five minutes as punishment.” His deep husky dangerous voice warned. If I wasn’t a girl, I would be scared but I am a girl so I wish I could scream because the way he just said those words were absolutely dangerously gorgeously hot! All nineteen of us started practicing almost immediately, however senior ShinDong was still eating, senior ChangMin joined too that’s why we practice a bit late. We danced all morning and when the clock strikes twelve, it’s lunchtime. Yet, senior RyeoWook and I continued dancing. My stomach particularly growled as I did the moves.
“Ok you two, enough practice. Hopefully you learned your lesson.” Senior Eeteuk advised with a cute smiled. He was wearing his glasses today, very stylish. I like seeing him with spectacles; it made him look younger yet responsible. I immediately lay down on the floor and closed my eyes. My breathing was heavy and deep as I lay on the cold wooden floor. I’ve been dancing non-stop all morning. Then I heard something beside me, it the sound of something sitting. My eyes shifted to my side and saw senior JunSu with senior YooChun sitting next to me, looking at me smiling. It felt like two angels has descended from heaven to cheer me up.
“Here you go Ten, you must be tired.” Senior JunSu handed me a bottle of water. He had a warm smile on his perfect handsome face. After I sat up straight, my hand hesitated to take the bottle. I thanked him and began drinking the cold water.
“Hey Ten, can we call you dongsaeng?” senior YooChun’s deep mesmerizing tone asked. I set the bottle down and stared at his babyish face for a few seconds. I knew every well that everyone in the room could us. “So can we?” he asked again, this time leaning toward me. Senior JunSu did the same. I gulped down before answering with a smile.
“Of course you can seniors.” My body leaned away from them as they grinned at each other. I looked around and saw everyone smiling at me. I think they are trying to make me feel at ease. How sweet of them. They are truly angels with their kind hearts and gorgeous looks. All of them knew that I was new to this trainee thing and as seniors they tried to be helpful. Plus I’m younger and never met them before. They knew each other ever since they were trainees. I was a stranger when I first met them.
“And one more thing, just call us all hyung. Stop calling us seniors, it made us feel old.” JunSu… hyung made a face. Ok it’s not working for me to call them hyung. I am a girl not a boy. On the other hand I have no choice so I just agreed. All of a sudden, a song was playing from my bag. Who would call me now? Before I could stand up, Senior KyuHyun reached for my bag and handed me my phone. I thanked him before I answered the call. My phone’s screen stated the caller ID and it was my dad. What does he want now? He just saw me hours ago. He must have missed me. Wait, he could be sick from this morning.
“Excuse me… hyung.” I choked the word out and stood up to get out from the room. I needed to talk to my dad in private so I could speak in my normal girl voice. As I was walking toward the door, I flipped opened my phone.
Before I could say anything. “I’M GETTING MARRIED!” I heard my dad’s voice from the other line, sounding all hyper and cheerful. At that very moment everything in my body stopped functioning. I felt blood rushed to my heart to keep it beating from the sudden shock. I bet my face was pale. I couldn’t feel my legs anymore, my body immediately dropped to the floor causing everyone to look at me. I couldn’t even think clearly. Everything just shut down, no longer working. All I could do was scream and I did. I screamed in a high-pitched voice, it was like a girl’s shriek. And all eyes were staring at me. I’m doomed.
Chapter Two: Bitter Past
My girly screamed filled the room of young men who thought I was a boy. I don’t care though. My mind was corrupted at that time. I couldn’t move a muscle. My body was still on the floor, emotionless. I could sense all eyes on me, wondering what just happen? The dancing room was silent, no one moved or spoke, until SungMin crawled to my side and stared at me. His worried face was too adorable for words.
“Ten? Dongsaeng?” SungMin waved his hand in front of my face. My hands were weak and shaking, which caused my phone to fall. I saw HeeChul picked up my phone and answered it as he stared at me weirdly.
“Ten is… away for awhile.” He searched for a suitable word to say, not having a clue to who was he talking to. “He’ll call you later.”
“Then tell my angel that I’m getting married. This is her father by the way.” I could barely heard my dad reply on the other line. Then the phone went quiet. He must have hung up. I am so dead. No father, repeat, no father would call his ‘son’ angel. Plus he used ‘her’ instead of ‘his’! I wished I could take the phone from HeeChul but my body was still frozen. I’ve been betrayed, damn it. After closing my phone, I saw HeeChul smirking teasingly at me. How I wished I could take that smirk off of his pretty face.
“Congratulation Ten. Your dad is getting married.” His smirked was getting wider and wider. Immediately, everyone crowded around him, asking whether he was lying or not. He said it was the truth with a silly grinned on his attractive face. Others were stunned and laughed with joy.
“Wow, congratulations Ten.” KiBum showed his cute boyish smile. Soon I received other best wishes for my father from the remaining members.
“Ten, your dad called you angel?” HeeChul blurred out. He was holding back his laugh. Somebody please, anybody kill me. Kill me now. Where is YunHo when you need him? Out of the blue, SiWon smacked HeeChul’s head, making him whined in pain as he rubbed his head. HeeChul emitted glares at SiWon who ignored him and roll his eyes.
“Don’t bully him, he is our dongsaeng.” SiWon protected me. HeeChul frowned at SiWon before cursing in low whisper tone. SiWon shook his head side to side at HeeChul’s childish behavior, hard to believe that HeeChul was older than him. Soon silent returned in the dancing room and I still unable to move on the floor. Each member glanced at one and another with a puzzled face. Eighteen of them tried to bring me back after they realized I was frozen. First they splashed my face with water, it didn’t worked and my clothes were wet because of that. Next, they shook me and I still couldn’t move a muscle but my head hurts after all the shaking. I could feel my brain hitting my skull. Afterward they slapped me, well KangIn did all the slapping and he enjoyed doing so. Note to self in the future, never get into KangIn’s bad side. I bet my face turned pale white to deep red but yet, it still failed. Lastly, they tried bribing me with food, which I think only work on either ShinDong or ChangMin. It was another was unsuccessful attempt. In the end everyone gave up and I was still unmoving. It has been hours since their tried to revive me.
All of a sudden, JunSu sat in front of me and looked at me straight in the eyes. He had on a serious look and he inhaled a deep breath before he spoke. “Come back to reality or I’ll kiss you.” My eyes instantly blinked. I could finally feel my blood moving all over my body. My eyes continued to blink rapidly as I shook my head and moved a little. I could also finally feel the soreness of my cheeks, KangIn have too much force. “It worked.” JunSu was amazed. Almost at once everybody swarmed me. I was attacked with numerous questions.
“Are you ok?”
“Why didn’t you move?”
“Do you have a fever?”
“Do you feel hot?”
“I’m so so so hot hot!”
“I wasn’t asking you EunHyuk.”
“How many fingers am I holding?”
“Give me back my hand ChangMin.”
“Am I that handsome?” okay that was random coming from YooChun, everyone looked at him with one eyebrow rise. “What?” YooChun shrugged, as he felt offended, members just nodded their heads.
“Did you hear HeeChul? Your dad is getting married.” JaeJoong stated. His voice was full of enthusiasm and his cheeky crooked smile appeared on his pretty face. I glanced around and saw nearly everyone with a smile. My mind was a bit slow at that moment but I just moved my head up and down.
“Yes, my dad is getting married.” My voice was not deep when I said those words. It was my normal tone, my girl voice. I sensed everybody’s eyes diverted to me. I could also feel my heart’s beat accelerated. I saw both JunSu and EunHyuk stopped arguing as soon as they heard me. The two of them always fight and no one could bring to an end to their pointless battles, which mean I am really dead. Good-bye to my dreams unless I think of something quick. I made a fake groan and touched my throat. I tried to deepen my voice once again before uttering a single word. “My throat is sore.” I lied and made another fake groan. I hung my head low to avoid any eye contact.
“Oh, that’s it?” DongHae sounded relief. He leaned backwards and smiled at me. His charming expression made me believed he really cares about his friends.
“You sounded like a girl just now, Ten are you sure only your throat hurts?” YeSung asked with concern. I nodded in respond and continued making fake groans. I tried to smile to convince them. Hopefully they believed my acting. Afterwards they let it go and all eighteen of them returned to their normal activities.
“Ten, you are going to be your father’s best man right?” KyuHyun asked with delight written all over his face. He used the same tone as JaeJoong’s, full of excitement. “Do you know who your future stepmother is?” As soon as he asked that, my mind went blanked. I forgot to ask my dad. Actually I didn’t have the chance to ask him after he said ‘married’. No wonder he was so happy this morning, he was going to propose to someone. Who is the lucky person though? I can’t think of any woman marrying with my childish dad. I shrugged at KyuHyun who faced me stunned, not only him but the other members as well. This room maybe produced an echo that I didn’t hear because each single word that I said reached everyone’s ears.
“What do you mean you don’t know?” ChangMin tilted his head to the side confused with one eyebrow rising. He looked so cute like that I want to pinched his cheeks. Self control, Ten, you are a guy now, not a fan-girl. “Hasn’t he been going out? On a date or something?” he added more questions. Again I shrugged at his quizzes. I honestly have no idea.
“My dad has been acting normal before I joined SM. He always started working at nine then stops at eleven. He has been following that routine ever since my mom…” My male voice trailed off, unable to finish that sentence. A wave of memories suddenly hit me, memories of my mom, bitter memories. My heart without delay started aching. My tears were forming in my eye. I tried my best to hide my crying face from them. I even bit my bottom lip preventing me from whimpering. I don’t think crying is helping my situation. I’m supposed to be acting like a guy but now I’m sobbing. I looked down to the wooden floor and shut my eyes tight. I counted to ten to cool myself down. I heard someone stood up and the sound of walking as I control my breathing. It was getting nearer and nearer but then it just stopped.
“Ten?” I recognized that voice. The velvet like voice that made me admired him for years since I first heard it from ‘Hug’. Then I felt something patting my shoulder. “Ten, everything is going to be fine.” That statement shocked me. Usually people would asked ‘what’s wrong’ or ‘are you hurt’ or even ‘stop crying please.’ He didn’t though. He said it’s going to be ok. And I believe JunSu. I looked up slowly to only to meet his gaze upon me. He then hugged me and continued whispering the words softly to my ear. Unexpectedly the whole members of Dong Bang Su Ju embraced me too, it was a group hug. I really appreciated it.
“Why are we cuddling?” I heard KangIn’s deep curios voice asked after a few minutes.
“I have no idea.” I think that was HanKyung answering. I laughed out loud, that cause them to break the hug. Everyone stared at each other before YunHo cleared his throat, all eyes moved toward him.
“Let’s start practicing again, we need to perform perfectly before our debut date.” YunHo said in his leader tone. As his ‘followers’ we did what he told us to. We all stood up, smiling at one another and practiced until it was late at night. My muscles were all sore and I smelt horrible because of the sweat. Members were sweaty but that only made every single one of them looked so hot that I wanted to melt. We all returned to our apartment, which was quite big but it only has five rooms, which mean we have to share. Every room could fit roughly four people and I shared my room with the ‘high voices’ people, which were ChangMin, YeSung and RyeoWook. After I finished my shower in the bathroom, I started to unpack my bag. I looked around the room and saw ChangMin, eating of course on his bed, YeSung sitting in front of a desk reading a book. RyeoWook was in the bathroom. Only this room had its owned personal bathroom, the other rooms have to share the bathroom outside. Suddenly ChangMin called my name when I was done unpacking everything. I looked at him as a respond.
“What happened earlier today? Why did you cry?” he looked at me with eyes full of curiosity, they were big and sparkling like a child’s eyes wanting candy. I noticed YeSung closed his book and turned his head to my direction. Should I lie again to them? They have been really nice to me though, they tried their hardness to make me felt relaxed for the past few weeks. It’s bad of me to lie to them after all they did to me.
“I remembered my mom.” I answered as I stepped away from my closet and sat down on my bed. My gaze moved down to my feet, trying to hold back the tears as the memories swarmed into my mind once again.
“Is she okay? Or…” I heard YeSung guessing. I shook my head from side to side as I bit my bottom lip.
“She’s not dead. She is probably in Japan right now, living with her ‘true love’.” My male voice was cracking as I told them. I struggled as I keep my low voice. Recalling the past was hard. “When I was little, my parents loved to throw parties. I remembered one evening when I was with my mom. A gentleman greeted us, he was handsome and he seemed very kind. Soon I learned that he was my dad’s best friend.” I paused, remembering the man so vividly. His face was gifted with beauty. His nose was straight and perfectly sculptured. His cheekbones were also flawlessly refined. His head still full of black hair despite his age.
“Then what happen?” I heard YeSung asking. I looked up at him and noticed his eyes were wide with interest.
“The man kept on meeting us, which pleased both of my parents. He was my father’s long lost best friend after all, my dad was so happy to finally meet him after all those years they struggled to be successful. Every time my dad was away for business, the man always made sure to visit us. Sometimes he brought toys for me and for my mother, her favorite yellow tulips. My mom was always so happy when he came. She always acted shy in front of him and laugh at his jokes, even the not so funny ones. They have so many things in common too. She looked really blissful with him around. She has found the man of her dreams.” My tone was getting higher as I spoke. I glanced at the two in front of me, their faces showed mixed emotions. I tried to regain control of my vocal once again before talking. “Then one night, she just left.”
I heard a gasped from ChangMin and YeSung was leaning closer. “She just left?” ChangMin muttered in a low whispered. I subconsciously nodded.
“Coincidence, my dad returned the next morning and I told him I could not find mom. All the servants have been ordered to search while the both of us explored everywhere in the mansion but still we could not find her. Finally, after hours of hunting, I found a note on my bedside table. It was written in her handwriting. My fingers immediately tore the envelope. First, she wrote that she was sorry for leaving me and then she told me to be cheerful. She was going to live in Japan with him, him who she loved with all her heart. Him who made her the happiest woman in the world.” I ended my story there. Then I looked up because I heard a soft sob. It was from the two of them. Their faces showed a sad expression. I half smiled at them. “And I am happy for her. I wanted the best for her. So don’t show me those miserable faces.” I scolded them and tried to laugh but my tears subconsciously fell. My voice finally cracked and soft whimpers came out. My hands touched my wet cheeks and wiped away the tears. I smile hoping to ease up the atmosphere. The boys were still wearing heartbreaking expressions. All of a sudden, a pair of arms embraced me from behind. It comforted me and made me feel better.
“That must have really hurt.” RyeoWook’s soft whispers soothed me. And yes, it really does hurt. Knowing your mom left you for a man who was your father’s best friend. It hurts so much knowing she loved him more than you, her only child. I still love her though. I still care for her. She’s my mom and I wanted her to be happy even though I’m suffering. I felt something wet again on my cheek but it was not my tears. It was RyeoWook’s. He let out soft weeps too. I grasped his arms and held it tight as I closed my eyes to let my tears flow again.
Chapter Three: First Kiss
My mind began to regain its awareness as I felt the sun’s hot ray heating my skin. All I could hear was silent beside the air-conditioner working. Everybody is still sleeping. I felt out a soft yawn. Morning already? I felt like I only slept for a few hours. No wonder artists always have eye bags and lost weight during trainee years. It’s so tiring to be a singer. I turned my body to side-to-side, stretching and yawning, letting blood flow all around my body. However, I felt something beside me, something hard yet considered soft, its warm too. I sense a low breathing as well. Reluctantly, I opened my eyes hoping to see a pillow or something but I could only to see RyeoWook’s eyelid, he was sleeping silently beside me. My eyes widen in shock at the sight of him. I think they almost popped out from my eye sockets. What is he doing on my bed? I tried to recall what happened last night as I looked under the covers. My clothes were still on. My hand reached for my wig, which was securely on my head. Thank goodness.
Flash Back…
“Ten, are you okay now?” YeSung whispered as he softly patted my shoulder. I nodded slowly as I did not want to hit RyeoWook on the head.
“RyeoWook hyung, you can let go now.” I released him from my grip as he did too. ChangMin directly sat on my side and patted my back, calming me. RyeoWook sat at my other side while YeSung sat down on the floor in front of me stroking my hand. “I am alright, really.” I smiled again, trying to convinced them but failed. RyeoWook leaned his head on my shoulder as he sobs again. This guy is so sensitive. I looked down at him and stared. He reminds me of a child, a naïve child, so pure and innocent. No wonder he is the baby of the group. However now I’m the baby because ‘I’m so tiny and short’ at least that was what KangIn said. Not my fault most girls are shorter than boys.
“Hey Ten, can I sleep beside you tonight?” RyeoWook’s question alarmed me. I heard both YeSung and ChangMin snickering in the background as I stared RyeoWook in disbelief. I asked RyeoWook why and all he answered was, “Because I’m upset and don’t want to sleep alone. I might cry in my sleep.” He looked up at me and pouted very cutely. I’m not buying it though, no matter how cute it is. I told him firmly no. “But--but--but.” He whined as he tried to find reasons. I sighed at his child like face and behavior.
“YeSung hyung sleep with your wife. You two are YeWook or RyeoSung.” I teased him. ChangMin finally laughed out loud, falling to his back as he did so. YeSung glared at me for teasing him. I smirked at him evilly. I gently pushed RyeoWook toward YeSung who continued to show a fierce look at me. ChangMin was still laughing in the background. He even rolled on my bed holding his stomach. He had tears in his eyes. Maybe I should tease him too. “Or ChangMin can accompany you tonight.” Abruptly ChangMin stared at me with wide eyes, his laughing face was replaced with a shook expression. I tried my hardness not to laugh at his silly face. “Then we have RyeoMin or ChangWook. Maybe we should have YeRyeoMin.” I teased the two of them again with a smirk permanently plastered on my face. RyeoWook was surprisingly silent beside me. He had an amusing face on instead of the sad one. I’m glad he has finally stopped sobbing.
“I preferred TenWook or RyeoTen better.” It was coming from YeSung. He had on the same smirk as mine.
“Same here.” ChangMin voiced out. He copied the same smirk; the only different was it looked cute on his face. The three of us glared at each other and kept on inventing new couple names.
“RyeoSung!”
“MinRyeo!”
“TenWook!”
“RyeoYe!”
“TenRyeo.”
“YeRyeo!”
“Copy cat! Ahh… ChangRyeo!”
“WookSung!”
“MinWook!”
“ChangYeWook!”
“MinSung!”
“Foul ChangMin, the rule says must include RyeoWook’s name.”
“There’s no rule! There wasn’t even a rule in the first place!”
“Stop whining and continue the game.”
“What game? What rule?”
“ChangMin is right, what exactly are we doing?”
“I forgot.” [A/N: I myself forgot xD]
The three of us looked at each other and tried to recall why are we doing this in the first place. At last RyeoWook whined and told us. “Oh~.” Our three voices harmonized perfectly as we nodded at the same time.
“YeSung ah. Please? May I sleep beside you?” YeSung’s jaw dropped and he glanced at both ChangMin and me. We both were laughing silently. RyeoWook was pouting and his eyes were big and brightly shining. YeSung groaned in defeat and gestured to RyeoWook to move his bed. “Yeah~ thanks YeSungie” RyeoWook clapped his hands and began to shift his bed near YeSung’s. As the four of us climbed on our individual separate bed, there was a knock on the door. The four of us faced the unopened door.
“Time to go to sleep. Goodnight dongsaeng.” I heard Eeteuk’s voice ordered us. I took a quick look at my watch and noticed it was late at night. Every night, Eeteuk would go to room to room to check on us like what he did just now. Sometimes when we were still hyper, we would respond by saying, ‘Yes Eeteukie omma’.
“Goodnight ChangMin, RyeoWook and YeSungie.” I emphasized ‘YeSungie’ and chuckled. I heard YeSung groaned and ChangMin’s adorable laughs as I turned off my bedside lamp. Darkness engulfed the room and soon it was quiet. Only a small light came from the window and the tiny holes of the door. I can barely hear anything except for the sound of muffles coming from my roommates and the air-conditioner sound. I pulled my blanket over my shoulder and stared at the darkness. Slowly my eyelids began to cover my eyes and I entered a whole new dimness.
End of Flash Back
Ok, nothing happened. Why is he here though? I remembered vividly that he was with YeSung, on his bed, beside YeSung, not beside me. I slowly got up and stopped in a sitting position, not wanting to wake him up. He seriously looked like an angel when he was in dreamland. I scanned the room and found ChangMin still on his bed. His face was on his pillow; this kid sleeps on his stomach. How could he breath when his face on his pillow, doesn’t he need air? It is one of the mysteries of the Dong Bang Su Ju world. ChangMin’s blanket tangled his long legs and his arms were spread out. He looks so cute sleeping with his ruffled hair. My gazed moved toward YeSung and his eyes were shut. He was sleeping on his back and I couldn’t see his arms because his blanket covered his whole body. He looked so peaceful compared to what happened last night. All of a sudden RyeoWook moved his upper shoulder and his arms followed. I stared down at him as he moved slowly. He rubbed his eyes with his skinny hands as he yawned. My body automatically moved away from him. His left eye impulsively popped opened before his other eye followed. He still looked sleepy though but he looked up only to see my gazed at him. His lips curled up into a light smile.
“Morning Ten. You’re up early.” His voice sounded husky in the morning, which made me gulped. He looked around and yawned again. It took me a few seconds to process everything. I am so slow in the morning.
“What are you doing in my bed?” I demanded. RyeoWook turned his sleepy face toward me, blinking. I wondered if he is slow too in the morning?
“Oh, last night, YeSung kicked me in the stomach and I fell off the bed. Then I tried to settle into ChangMin’s bed but his long hands and legs occupied the free spaces, plus he was kicking too. I think he was dreaming playing soccer with JunSu hyung since he kept on whining JunSu’s name. In the end, I just stayed in your bed. You are much more gentle and you sleep like the dead.” RyeoWook babbled on and on about last night. I didn’t care what were his reasons though. My eyes squinted at him and my breathing was low.
“Get out of my bed now.” I firmly stated. I made my vocal sound so deep and threatening. Unfortunately he just yawned lazily and closed his eyes.
“Five more minutes?” he could barely opened his eyes as he yawned that out. I groaned in frustration and was ready to push him away. However his sleepy face looked so comfortable lying on my pillow. He had his eyes shut as he breath slowly in and out. I noticed that his eyelashes were long and made his eyes more attractive. His chest and shoulders descended and ascended unhurriedly as he breath. His black hair was all ruffled and made him looked like an innocent child sleeping. Like an angel I thought. I stared at him in disbelief, shaking my head in disapproval. I’m such a softie. I slowly got out from bed and went to the bathroom, not wanting to disturb the sleeping angel on my bed. I looked at the reflection of the bathroom and saw a really messy guy with sleepy eyes. His hair was out of order and his clothes were far too big for his tiny body. I glanced at the door to make sure it was locked before I reached for my wig. The untidy guy followed my actions and then pulled a wig off his head finally revealing who he really was. I sighed at my own reflection as the girl looked at me with troubled eyes. I turned away from the mirror and began to hunt for my toothbrush. I tied my long hair in a ponytail as I searched. I did my morning routine. I brushed my teeth, washed my face and fixed my wig. I was about to go out when I took a look at the mirror again, the messy guy stared back at me. I smiled as he mimicked me. Lastly I went out from the bathroom.
“Hey Ten, who is this girl?” RyeoWook asked as he held up my phone. I stared at the object on his hand. There was a picture of me, a girl version of me. Dad must have caught it when I wasn’t looking. I wasn’t even smiling in that picture. “Is she your sister? She looked a lot like you, only prettier.” I don’t why but as soon as he said those words, my cheeks felt hot, burning actually. Maybe I was panicking. Without thinking any further, I took the phone from him and put into my pocket.
“Don’t you think it’s rude to invade others’ privacy?” I asked nicely in a way that a guy would say. I smiled down at him because he was still lying on my bed, looking blameless.
“Sorry Ten, by the way you got three new messages. All came from the same person.” He stated. I hurriedly took out my phone from my baggy trousers. I did received three messages from the same sender. I never seen the numbers before and the messages were weird.
“Oppa,” that was the first message, so whoever know me, she knew me as a guy. “Miss you,” the second message said, an admirer? A stalker? Wow I haven’t even debut yet, already I got a fan. The last message was full of blushing animations and hearts accompany by the word “I love you.”
“Who is it from?” I heard RyeoWook still husky voice asked. I looked at him and back to the screen of my phone.
“I don’t know but I think it’s from a stalker.” I guessed. I also guess that this person is a young girl who is in love with ‘Ten’. First clue was she called me oppa. Second hint she used a lot of animations and could an old person know how to used this animations? They could barely understand the word ‘software’. Third evidence that I think she is a stalker is because she got my phone number. While I was thinking about all this, RyeoWook tiredly got up and walked to the bathroom. However as clumsy as he really is, the carpet caught his foot and he landed on me. I felt the impact when he bumped into me and I closed my eyes as we both fell to the floor. I felt something weird on my lips as I was knocked to the cold floor. It was something soft and moist. I opened my eyes to see RyeoWook on top of me with his lips on mine, my first kiss…gone…by…RyeoWook. My eyes widen and my chest felt as if it about to burst. My cheeks felt so hot as well. All of a sudden, I heard the door’s knob turning and the door slide opened, revealing a sleepy looking JunSu.
“Hey you four, wake--.” He could not finish his sentenced when he looked down to see both RyeoWook and me. His eyes widen in shook as his jaw dropped. I pushed RyeoWook away as I crawled back away from him. Acts like a guy, act like a guy, act like a guy, I kept on repeating in my head. All I wanted to do now was to scream at the top of my lung. RyeoWook looked confused as he stared into space.
“Are you guys gay?” how I want to kill that dolphin.
